CHIYO-CHAN: Pursuing a master's degree in political science from Harvard, having been inspired towards politics by the 2004, 2006, and 2008 Presidential elections. Intends to someday become a member of the Japanese Diet. OSAKA: Distractable yet capable elementary school teacher in Kobe. Wanted to become a high school teacher, but assumed teaching elementary and then middle school had to come first. Assumption has not yet been corrected. SAKAKI: Assistant veterinarian at a major Kyoto pet hospital. Most current hopes revolve around being promoted to full-time domestic animal vet. Donated Maya to the Kyoto Zoo after he killed and ate her first attempt at a pet rabbit. TOMO: Eloped with a French boyfriend after graduating college. Returned to Japan one year and one divorce later. Currently working shifts at a local convenience store while mooching off roommate Yomi. Major fan of Lucky Star. YOMI: Successful young-adult novelist and newspaper op-ed writer. Recently released the second book in her light novel series, "The Energetic Student Tomo-chan." (The artistic license taken to Tomo's life was not exactly flattering.) KAGURA: Bronze-medalist in Women's 50-meter Freestyle Swimming at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Continues her training regimen while being the unofficial mascot of a major Tokyo sporting goods store. Hasn't spoken to Tomo since Tomo stole her French boyfriend. KAORIN: Pursuing a master's degree in Astronomy at Tokyo U. Long-term plans include obtaining a Ph.D and working at Keck Observatory in Hawaii. Owns a cat named Sakaki. CHIHIRO: Independent fashion designer. Recently celebrated a Shibuya-area clothing store carrying her products. Kaorin's on-again-off-again girlfriend. MISS YUKARI: Accidentally ran over Kamineko, hit a telephone pole and broke both legs. Currently dating the doctor who treated her. MISS KUROSAWA: Married an architect after a six-month engagement, now Mrs. Inoue. Hasn't changed her job. MR. KIMURA: Lives a charitable, peaceful, perfectly normal life with his wife and daughter.
